Maybe one day, someday, Iâll set aside a time to go back through the seasons and really dissect the dynamics of each Precure group. Because although they all contain that vital element of friendship, obviously the friendships of each are not created equal and the same.Â
Which is one of the biggest reasons why I like this franchise. Itâs largely formula, yes, but theyâre not carbon copies of each other. Thereâs also the story that affects how these girls came together, who these girls were before they met and who they become after their experiences and when they realize the depth of their bonds.
In Hikaruâs case, like many of the lead Cures before her, she is plucky, optimistic and cheerful and she gathers those who need a change in their lives. In comparison to the other Cures, she might seem more normal and appear âless interestingâ. Maybe even annoying and frustratingly naive to people who canât see pass the archetype skeleton of her character.
But itâs because sheâs like that, because sheâs not bound by limits and skepticism, because sheâs dare-to-discover, open-minded, steadfast and indisputably caring Hikaru, that we can have the Star team as they are now.
Lala who could only go so far on her own before they met, Madoka who had no one to call a true friend before they met and even Elena whose world expanded further than the one she already knew before they met.
Hikaru didnât have to give them any of that. Theyâve always had the chance to reach out for the unknown. She just showed them how to take it and not be afraid to hold on.
And for that, they couldnât be more grateful to her.
Hikaru allowed them to see more. The more they can become. The more than they are now.
She was the starting push they needed to get to that more.
Thatâs why sheâs their leader and why they can put their entire faith and trust in her.
It doesnât matter in the least whether Hikaru knows anything or everything or ânothingâ. It doesnât matter if they hit a wall or a hundred dead-ends.
Whatâs important is that Hikaru always, always continued moving forward.
If they hit a wall, they only need to climb over it. If theyâve reach a dead-end, they only need to find another way around it.
And her friends helped her remember that.
Not knowing what lies beyond never stopped Hikaru from following what she felt was right or loving the things she loves or becoming more than what she already is.
That is what makes Hikaru so awesome. That is her strength.
